Introduction
Have you notices some suspicious or irrelevant content being posted from your personal account? Well, you may just have been compromised! Luckily there are some simple ways to quickly detect and prevent someone unwillingly accessing your account.
1. Go to Facebook.
-> Account  (small arrow at the top right of your Facebook navigation bar)
-> Account Settings
-> Security
-> Login Notifications
Tick ‘email’ – this will alert you via email if your account has been accessed by a computer or smartphone that you haven’t used before
Click ‘save changes’

This requires you to enter a security measure each time an unrecognized machine attempts to access your account.

Setting a security question is a good way to identify yourself as the account owner in case of any mishaps. It is best to keep it secret – don’t write an answer that everybody will know, or is easy to guess! For example:

Check your ‘Active Sessions’ regularly.
Look for unfamiliar devices, locations or operating systems – if you see one that you do not recognize, change your password!
